I used many, 000webhost is one that I would recommend. Though I used it a long time back I think it was one of the good ones in free hosting, uptime was very good. Never actually had a problem with it.
Though I'd say only use free hosting for testing purposes and not much more.

Why would I use free web hosting when the one I use now pays me?

Wow! How glad I'd be if I had access to such nice package!
Do you mind sharing on what this super beneficial web hosting service is?

Hehe, it's funny to know @oldbuddy, that AIOP not only offers so many free goodies but also provides an enormous opportunity to earn endless passive income.

I know there are lots of free webhosting site. I am just contented with blogger. I once tried weebly but I didn't continue it. I am at ease with blogger platform.

The hosting package is a standard cPanel shared account like you would subscribe to any number of places online, but in this case it also comes with all the tools I use to promote online (autoresponders, tracking, rotators, webpage generators, training, etc.), for which we pay $11.50 a month. Since the tools allow me to get referrals for Clixsense, that income more than pays for the tools I need and go on to earn significant profits from both websites, which in my opinion is much better than getting a free account.

I have used free hosting sites like 000webhost, geocities and other free hosting sites in the past. But realized that most of the free hosting end up adding ads on your site.

Go with paid hosting and domain if you have serious business plans.

No, I have never gone with a free hosting site because when I finally decided I was going to run with the idea of launching my own blog, my research findings discouraged me from going down that route. Like you say skysnap, the experts claim businesses rarely take people who use free hosting sites very seriously. So I stayed clear.

My blogs are with Blogger.com and I haven't tried any other free blog hosting sites. But my friend had used 1 such site from UK and it was good at first until the pop ups came and the access got slower.

000webhost is not the best free host at all and I would definately not recommend going with them even if you are quite desperate for some free hosting. There are some other great sites out there such as X10Hosting which I am using right now until I can afford to get premium hosting

I was just reading about this, and it isn't necessarily the fact that a host is free that is the problem. The problems come by way of the terms of service for each site and whether or not they place their own ads on your site or restrict you from placing ads.

Weebly was one of the ones they suggested (although it does place its own ad). They mentioned a couple of others as well. Some don't do ads but they may require you to purchase a domain (which looks more professional than blogspot. or whatever after your name).

Can you elaborate a bit?

I'm looking for free and paid hosting to purchase soon. I'd like a paid one for an upcoming venture and a free one for a blog that isn't really an earner (but I'm not a fan of blogspot, etc).

This was part of the problem for me when I was looking into blogging, thisnthat. The other thing that worried me was the idea that I could wake to find that my blog had been shut down, or at least that's what a lot of sites said. That just didn't bode well for me, as I wanted something a lot more stable than that.

Absolutely. I have heard that Blogger is the worst for shutting down sites without notice. If you get too popular, if you're making money, or if they just decide they don't like your blog for any reason or none at all. Yeah, being at their mercy won't work for a blog that you are actually putting effort into.
