Website billing system hacked

Postby niche » 13 Jan 2017, 01:28

A website was supposed to pay publishers on 10 january 2017, however it appeared that the website has been hacked and the payment was not credited properly.
How easy or difficult is it for the website billing system of a company to be hacked, have you experienced a similar problem yourself

WHMCS had a bunch of security issues a couple of years ago and it's supposedly a very secure billing system. I'd imagine it could happen to any software but it's more likely if the development team doesn't employ specialized security companies to scrutinize their code and attempt to break into the panel.

In my country, a system that is used to handle national treasury funds has reportedly been compromised. Politicians thereby keep lamenting that money meant for the counties has been diverted and stolen. I'm not sure if this is true.

It appears hackers are ruling the online world in some regions. This is worrying.

There are many risks associated with computerization, which few people are aware of, including easy manipulation

I'd say it's not that difficult to be hacked, especially if the website hasn't been secured enough.
If someone can hack Bitfinex and stole bitcoins worth millions and their site is probably quite secure, you can imagine how easy it will be for a small website to be hacked..

I am sorry for this mishap. If I were you, I would look for an alternative company. Your current firm does not seem to be serious in its doings.

But that doesn't mean computerization has to stop. There are too many benefits to give away over to little security risks.

I think 'hacking' may not be the real cause for such delay. It is the 'mentality' of the site owners.

Why would a particular ad being deleted be speculated as a hacker attack? This could have been an error in the code too.
