Safari update notifications

Postby earthsalt » 21 Feb 2017, 15:58

I recently installed the Safari browser onto my computer. I am presently being pestered by recurrent update notifications. I don't like this constant notification situation as I have not has similar experiences with other browsers.

A real bother I might add. I wonder why some of these companies behave as though they are dealing with nitwits.

I think Firefox Mozilla also does the same and every time you open that browser they eat up your time updating or asking to do something. I want to use those browsers but activities like these keep me away.

I always use Chrome but on Prolific Academic I had a study which said I could not use it for this particular task. I was quite surprised at that as I don't think it recommended any other. I couldn't do it anyway as I had to go out and didn't have time.

It is irritating enough that these companies keep placing new demands on users every now and then.

Yes. FireFox is another bothersome browser. Even though it has the noble advantage of being non-profit-based, it fairs poorly with respect to 'lightness'.

Yes. Some browsers are really annoying. I have Firefox and it gives the same bothersome message everytime you open it.

That's weird! My husband has an iMac and I use a MacBook and naturally, we use Safari. But we never get a deluge of notifications. In fact, it has never has happened in all the time that we've had the devices, so I'm not sure why you're being bombarded :?
