Adblock vs Adblock Plus vs Adblock Edge

Postby LShun » 27 Feb 2015, 11:52

Hello, I found out in Google Chrome's store there are numerous Adblock's available. However, which one do you prefer? I prefer Adblock Plus because it blocks advertisement effectively, did not crash my browser, and trust it as it has been existed for long time. :D

As this is in the webmaster discussions area, I wrote this a while ago on what webmasters should do about adblockers: https://www.webgurubb.com/threads/what- ... kers.3720/. ;)

Personally I use Adguard. It might not be as well known as AdBlock and Ad Block Plus but it works pretty well and fast too.

Personally, I don't believe in Adblock because websites deserve and often times need the money they get from ads. Some websites are run purely off of ads, so if everyone had AdBlock the website would eventually be shut down. I do though, understand how some websites over do it with the ads quite a bit, and when that happens I try and find an alternative website that is just as good. :)

Adblock is just a thing of the past.

uBlock & Privacy Badger are more preferred over them now.

I see, I use Adblock Plus too! The reason I installed Adblock Plus is for blocking those video ads on youtube because I have 0.38mbps internet. It will be a large hit for my internet speed though I feel sorry for those site purely run off ads.

I don't see anybody which said that AdBlock wasn't working for him. Please be sure that your post make sense.

I think there is a slight misunderstanding  . I think he was thinking you have a issue. Because the " I'm happy to see it works for you " can also mean "it doesn't work for me, but good news it works for you."

Thank you

I have blindly used Adblock Plus and to be honest I have no idea what the distinctions are between the adblocks. I think Adblock and ABP are made by the same guy tho.

Anyways ABP works well enough for me : )

I do not see a big difference between them, the first one is already very good and does an excellent job.

Yeah, most adblockers work the same, I usually just pick the one with the best reviews

I've never heard of "AdBlock Edge" but I automatically don't want to use it because I'm sick of companies calling things "Edge" :p Ugh.

I use ABP, personally, but there's not much difference I believe.

I really don't know what is the best but I just use adblock on certain websites. But as long as the website I am into doesn't annoy me, I just don't use adblock.
