How to insert code into Google Sites

Postby chaz » 20 Apr 2017, 09:52

Google Sites have a normal text field, but no HTML code field.
I have no idea how to paste some codes I will be needing for that page.
Any suggestions?
Did anyone used this web creator?

I found this:

https://support.google.com/sites/answer/2500646?hl=en

You can edit your page’s HTML to create custom page layouts.

Open your website in Google Sites.
Go to the page you want to edit.
Click Edit Edit.
Click Edit HTML source <HTML>.
You’ll see your page’s HTML code in the "Edit HTML" window.
Make changes or paste HTML script from another site.
To see how your changes will look, click Preview.
When you’re done, click Update.

One question.
Is this in Classic Sites or New Sites?
Because they had an upgrade and I see nothing of what you just described.
New sites have a pre-default templates with no html forms to be changed.

Yes - I see ... I haven't used the new version until now.

It seems that the new version may still get more features added...

Yes, but new version is really easy. I already made a few parts of a website.
Adding things like pages, header, colors is a piece of the cake.
Also, it is a responsive template and no hassle to set it up.
Do you maybe know if they have a custom domain feature in new sites, because I see settings for an old has it?

It might be possible, as long as you are able to change settings like DNS records etc. I found this information which may help:

Oh, thanks!
This is indeed useful and the whole thing is super easy to understand.
For anybody trying to make a page and knows nothing to start with these new Google Sites are absolute perfect idea.
