Do you have a Facebook or Twitter for your website? Have you ever found it to be useful in marketing your site?

I have a Facebook and Twitter page for HolderHost.com but I don't update. The most success I have ever had with social media was for a webmaster autoblog I owned where twitter effectively brought in 9,000 visits a month.

I use Twitter and FaceBook for my sites. Honestly I'm not sure how effective they are. But they are a good way of staying in touch with people interested in the sites. Plus when I post a link in Twitter, it generally gets about 40 clicks almost straight away, which is a good way to promote an interesting forum topic.

I use Facebook, It's easy and better as Social Media Advertising is quite effective. I don't use Twitter as much as I use Facebook.

I normally have a facebook, and twitter for my sites. I'm honestly not sure how effective they have been for bringing in traffic.

I do not currently have a Facebook page for my forum, although I may launch one soon.

I think it is important nowadays to have these social network accounts.

That's a great result, can you tell us a little more about how you achieved that?

Sure.

The site was: webmasterdaily.net. It auto posted from various sources and tweeted the post title and a shortened link.

I didn't get it right first go. I purchased 140,000 odd fake followers. Twitter slowly deleted these. They did serve the purpose of getting me over 2000 followers to be allowed to follow others. In the end I had 9,000 odd fake followers and 4500- 5000 real followers.

I used the following exchange sites:
Twiends
SocialClerks
and a couple of others but I am sure there are better ones around. Twiends brings in quality followers so that's where you want to focus, exchanging every day. I also got the odd non exchange follower from FP.

I personally use Twitter and Facebook little. I have not really tapped into it as much as I should or could. That been said, I will start very soon!

I have a twitter for my website. I dont have a facebook page yet. I think that I should have more member first before having a facebook account. I also set-up a youtube account for my website which I dont have time to upload video into it.

Always worthwhile setting up a FB page. Google likes to see social media impact on your site so if you Facebook a few links they are more likely to get indexed.

Yes I used twitter and fb, but twitter is the most effective one as it brings so much traffic, great for blogs.

I've always found Twitter to be much more professional. It's short and descriptive, and rarely annoys people with massive notifications. In general, I've noticed that most of my best traffic isn't from social media though.

I can't say I've had success in using social media. I've never really given it a try. Twitter hasn't been too useful. But I haven't been using the #hashtags yet.

Has anyone tried Pinterest? It generated some popularity.

I now have all big three for one of my websites, twitter, facebook and google+. Using all three to socialize my website.
And I think its quite engaging and useful.

I find that if i have a facebook page for my gmod server, it gets alot more people to join.

Facebook and Google Plus are irresponsive about this, but Twitter can bring good rankings for your website. But, Google plus is valued by Google. So, it is better to have autoblog for Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
