I would like to have my own site for monetization of ads program .
I found someone would suggest buying a VPS or build up a virtual server yourself is better. But some others suggest buying a hosting plan is better to build your website.

In fact, what are the difference between these two options?

If you are just starting out with a website you only need to purchase a shared hosting plan, no need for the additional expense of a VPS. Shared hosting plans start from about a dollar a month.

Will you be building the website yourself, or having someone build it for you?

Will your site be a blog?

I personally think it is better to buy a hosting plan because you will have experienced people who can manage the servers. If you buy your own server, you will need to manage it yourself and without the technical experience, you will have a lot of downtime. Since you ask this question, I assume you have never built your own VPS which means you have no experience with it and it will be a better option to buy hosting from a reputable company.

I'd suggest buying sharing hosting at first and then upgrade. VPS is oveerkill during initial period.
