Swift is the new language from Apple, and its really but really awesome ! Everybody should lesrn it ! Its simple ad easy to remember ! PHP and JS are cool too ! With PHP you can pretty much do anything you want, in a PHP file everything is valid (except some little things) and its pretty much a easy language. Easy to learn too !

I see, thank you. But it is a bad news to those using Java to develop applets and other's, because of its popularity, it is often targeted by hacker's.

R is a stats programming language. Surprising it's on the list. My last assignment was based on it.

I think that's a good point, the less common a language is, the less people who will know it, therefore, there will be less hackers who know the language well enough to hack it.

Why do you say that? Java is a very popular language and is used for lots of financial software systems. There are lots of jobs in Ireland for good Java programmers.

Java is good, yes, but doesn't deserve the top spot (if in order).. I'd say C.
