Getting readers to post comments on a Blog

Postby augusta » 02 Dec 2017, 18:33

One of the challenge I'm facing on my blog is getting people to comment on post. I will like users to comment more on my blog. What do you think are the strategies to adopt.

What is the name of your blog? I think you should offer some incentive to people for that. No one will comment so easily. One reason for this is people are insensitive to the issues.

People will comment only when they have something to say about your blog. In order to encourage commenting on your blog, your content should be useful, informative and interesting.

You can also make your title appealing that draws attention to the readers. The title must be of something that everyone can relate to, for the readers to read it further.

When I worked as a paid blogger for another site, and when I had my first blog, I found that asking a question at the end of the post helped some. Write compelling content and then ask them what they think (or how they would do something or what they would do/have done, etc).

I have recently set up my blog. Since the blog is new, I do not have any comments yet. Therefore, I am thinking to use this service.

What is your blog about? Is there any way for you to run a giveaway there? That can bring a lot of readers and they will start comment and follow your blog.

Having a search engine friendly title and focus keywords on the content will increase visibility of your blog in search egines. When your blog ranks high in search engines, you will get comments.

There are some forums that pay writers just to comment on your blog. Maybe you could consider this because it would take a while before you have bigger followers on your sites. It could cost you a lot but you might gain something if you invest for a bit.

Paid comments and contests will give you a temporary boost, if that's all you want. Promoting your blog and engaging your readers is the best way to get "real" traffic and return visits (and visits that might convert to sales).

Yea,I write more of these for easy interaction but it seems most of my readers like to read than to leave a comment would still continue though.

I'm not a fan of this either. For one, it's only a temporary boost like you said. Secondly, it's just not sustaibable. I much prefer organic, authentic comments. That's why I made the difficult decision to stop the Facebook ads. It's nice to see the numbers soaring when you've paid for the advert. But they soon drop sharply, forcing you to put in another advert to get them back up again. For me, this is just silly. I have better things to do with my money LOL

What user have to do for comment? Do they have to register or sign up with Facebook or other social media? If that part is complicated, then visitors won't do it because of one comment.

That is another good point. Make it easy for people to comment. If a blog requires too much info (or time) for me to sign up to leave a comment, I'm not going to bother doing it. If they try to force social media sign up, forget it.

I agree with you if it requires for me to sign up using my social media accounts I won't leave a comment because I won't be sure if the blog is safe it might compromise my account.
