Integrity of webmaster staff?

Postby niche » 27 May 2015, 15:25

As a webmaster, do you have any staff or employees who you meet personally. How do you ensure that they do not misuse the information that is provided to them like passwords and revenues?

I would expect passwords to be encrypted. If staff members are dealing with revenue, I'd expect them to have to submit to a background check. Most of the site owners I know tend to start out hiring people they know, anyway (like family members or friends). Later, if they need more staff, I would hope they perform due diligence.

What kind of background check do you carry out for staff of an online business. If the person is a fresher, how to find out that he or she is a cheater and liar.

If you are working online, it really is a matter of trust, like for example, with virtual assistants, you need to hire people that has a good reputation so hiring people in a known site such as odesk or freelancer.com might be a good choice.

When I had hired staff online, they turned out to be frauds and falsely claimed that some other cheater who bribed them, was making payment. Because of these dishonest staff, the cheater has got a lucrative government job despite having no knowledge and not spending money online.
When a young woman siddhi was hired offline, she committed corporate espionage at the first opportunity, though her mother claimed that theirs was a respectable family . In a highly corrupt country like India, where frauds are role models, hiring honest people remains a challenge
