Have you ever mass mailed users of your site/ forum/ subscribers to your blog? I have never done this before... Do you do it as a marketing thing to get traffic? Do you promote offers? What sort of things do you put in your newsletter as such?

As long as you have a purpose, only email people who registered at your site (not emails of people you brought from dodgy bob somewhere else on the internet), don't do it too often and give users a way to opt out then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I sent those mail using my forums software [MyBB] . I talk about the contest on my forums but it seem like nothing happen. Did you get my email?

I've done this when I was on advanced hosting, but eventually had one of my staff do it in the end because I kept sending out too many emails. In fact, we dished out roles that we know people knew how to do and were capable of: I promoted the site and provided the discussions, one of my admin did the back end of things like installing mods and themes, while my other admin, who was a better writer than I am, handled the emails. It worked out good because there wasn't so much stress this way. Of course, the one who handled emails also posted on the site as well.

Ya one time, I was doing online job for 2-3 months at that time, 100 mails a day was my job...
