To be frank I do not have an Instagram account. For me Facebook and Twitter were the two most popular social media platforms. But now after interacting with the younger generation, it appears that Instagram is more popular with the younger generations as compared to Twitter and FB. What are your views on this?

To me I think Twitter and Facebook are still the most popular onces . I don't use Instagram because of the high data consumption that comes from it

Yes, Instagram is popular among young generations, in fact I prefer it too. I noticed that most of my son friends have an Instagram account, my son has been asking me if he can create an account too but I think he is too young for social media, he is only 12.

Yes, female teenagers surely are hooked onto IG. Yes selfie, that too filtered one to them is what 2 pegs can do to us, men - release of feel good hormones as you mentioned.

Yes you are right. Tik Tok has caught fancy of young kids, but for those born in 70s and 80s FB remains the most popular social media platform, and probably for those born in late 90s and early 2000, it is IG, I guess.

While Facebook is more popular within all ages, Instagram and Twitter are on fire. Instagram is the main place for a certain group of people. You can find more millennials on Instagram everyday than other platforms.

The reason is that the app is more classy and elegant for everyone. The features and simple and straight to the point.

I guess it differs from country to country. Based on Botswana, Facebook remains the most popular social media platform, followed closely by IG. Tik Tok is slowly gaining popularity as well and I wouldn't be surprised if it caught up with Facebook and IG. Only time will tell.

I also think facebook is still number one. Many people i know don't use instagram, unless it is for business purposes.
