Domains4Bitcoins - Trust?

Postby jacktheking » 12 Sep 2013, 07:53

I am not sure about this website, it said that it can provide us a domain for bitcoins. Is this site trustworthy? Have anyone brought any domain from them?

When I visit the site it says they sell domain registrations for BitCoins. Yet, all their pricing appears to be in US Dollars?

I am not sure about them either. There doesn't seem to be much about them online (good or bad) so I guess they are pretty new.

If you want a domain for Bitcoins, I think Namecheap accept Bitcoins as payment for domains.

Most people wont commit to a certain amount of bitcoin because of the daily price changes. So 0.04 is £4 today but may be £2 tomorrow. By setting it to the dollar you pay at the current rate then.

I haven't used BitCoins yet. Also, the prices are higher in comparison to Namecheap.

I think you need to give contact details anywhere that you buy a domain. Why would you be reluctant to give that information to a major business such as Namecheap?

You do get free privacy protection (Whois Guard) on most domains from Namecheap for the first year. After that you can pay a small amount to extend it. This stops regular people seeing your information when they do a whois lookup on your domain. You can see here if the extension you want offers free whois guard - https://www.namecheap.com/domains/domain-pricing.aspx

You will still need to provide personal information as it is needed by ICANN aswell as namecheap for legal reasons. All legit companies will require this information.

Well, for one thing. As a business owner, and a customer I would never use bitcoins. The currency is to unstable. Just last month it was roughly around $200 for a single bit coin. Now it is almost at $1,000 for a single bit coin. It is far to unstable and I would never trust using it as a payment option.

So it appears it is like Gold, and investing in gold is quite a good business these days.

I think it is because gold is limited, costly to mine/extract and in high demand. The bigger the demand, the more people will want to sell it for and the more people will have to pay. At the moment though demand seems to be dipping so the price is falling. It is a case of supply and demand. The higher the demand, the higher the price.

Copper is more available and there is more around so the price is not being driven up as much.
