What pages every website should have?

Postby mrki444 » 24 Aug 2020, 20:42

Each page tries to appear serious in order to retain users. It is not easy but some things can be easily achieved lie some pages which every website should have. In my opinion the minimum pages it should contain are the following:
- Privacy policy
- F.A.Q
- Cookie consent
- Sponsors
- Contact
- Terms of use

Depending on the services it offers, you can find more things like logins / registrations or advertise, but I think the list is minimal.

What do you think?

I agree. Widgets with latest annouce on social media are great, even sometimes redirect user activity on social media and not on website.

Thanks for the post - these are very good points. The other thing I like to have on any website is the 'about' tab. Sometimes I just want to know that little bit more about what a site does beyond the above listed. That might be the difference between me joining/sticking around or walking away.

That depends on site. If site don't have many intrusive ads, don't need that option. Maybe only adblock detector.

All of the other comments are good. I guess your Contact page could also be an About Me page. I see people combine them. They tell visitors a little bit about themselves and then provide Contact info.

I think a meet and greet page should be added in websites to enable members chat and interact with each other. This feature is missing in many websites.

It's so important for a website to have an option where users could place targeted ads too. A user can use this to advertise where his targeted customers are.

Yeah Sites should endeavor to have an *about* tab too. Let the users know more about what the site is all about. Some sites fail in this and they are missing out. Having where you talk about yourself and the services you render is very very important.

You mean on chatbots? Not bad idea but still if some question is not in database, chatbot can't answer and still visitor must wait for answer.

I think more on contact form, not just post email. Depends on how much infos they will share, maybe everything will be to much on one page.

Log in with social media accounts page should also be include and I think the F.A.Q and the contact page are the most important to me, the F.A.Q page where all your questions about the website would be answered and the contact page where you can contact the admin in case you have any problems.

This is good but it also have few flaws like if plugin stop working you can't do anything about it while social media don't fix it. Also, because of GDPR law you must have good defined rules about data privacy and you partialy depend about social media rules. If you have your own register/login system, you don't depend about anybody.

I conquer with its idea too,the how it works tab kinds of puts you through and highlights the posdible strategies that are employed on the site. With this information you will know if the site will provide value to you in a short period of time so thst you dontvefen waste you time.

If you are android developer, google wants you to have terms and conditions page and the contact page. Some may even require you to have the about page.
