Embarrassing writer got her article cringy article published on a big magazine site. This company rejected an article of mine but accepted this one.



Jezebel is mainstream pop culture site that gets more views than the magazine site where I work but it seemed like Jezebel
allowed a writer with no credibility work for them. This is a high traffic website.

So there was this writer who complained about the erasure of Chun-li in the Mortal Kombat movie trailer.


Yes, Chun-li is an iconic videogame character, she is the first lady of fighting games. One of the first playable female characters in fighting games and a 90s sex symbol.....but Chun-li is not A MORTAL KOMBAT CHARACTER!

She is a Street Fighter character. Mortal Kombat and Street fighter are not related.

The writer talks about how discriminatory Warner Brothers are for deleting Chun-li in the movie. Chun-li is not a Mortal Kombat character. I don't think Capcom will allow Chun-li to be in an IP where people kills each other. Warner Brothers will not be inclusive on a character they don't own the copyright.

This Jezebel site rejected an article of mine three times and they accepted this person who doesn't know what she is talking about. This writer got paid hundreds or maybe even thousands of dollars for this.


She talks about how Mortal Kombat discriminated an iconic female character. Mortal Kombat have their own Iconic female characters like Sonya, Kitana, Mileena and Cassie.

This is like complaining that Spiderman is not in a Justice League movie.

Mortal Kombat Belongs to Warner Bros and DC comics.

Street Fighter belongs to Capcom.

Yeah i mean Chun li is not even in Mortal Kombat. But I think they need a reboot of Street fighter and get one of those cosplay girls to play her! some of them look like her come to life. Chun li has always been my favorite

lol this is true she must be on drugs. Cause no way Chun Li is gonna be in an offical mortal kombat film. in a fan made crossover fantasty thing yes maybe. But in an official release. Also why didn't she talk about how Johnny Cage is missing?

I don't know why I find it funny. This is the reason credibility is important. If you know nothing about what you wish to write about, a little research helps.

These are the complexities of journalism. We have had some news channels which became very popular but later some of their methods were found to be objectionable.
In this case, perhaps the Magazine editor had some bias in favor of this writer.

Seems like the magazine did not do their homework well, they should have vetted her before they took up the story. this is what happens when things are done in a shallow manner. I completely agree they should have their money reverted back to them.

The editor (or whomever) rejected your articles doesn't know anything about anything either. Then look at the update about how "Jezebel has discovered the answer..." Ughh, when? Pshhh! I'd be grateful I got rejected. You can do better. You would be surprised to know that standards everywhere has gone down. So where you'd expect Jezebel to be versed on something like this, don't count on it. I have seen enough to know not to take them seriously.

...and that's a disgrace too. You have no business writing about it then if you're going to make a mistake like that - because they are both Asian women. Do your homework man! You remember when the Anchor had 'mistaken' Samuel Jackson for Laurence Fishburne? They don't even look alike so why would you make that mistake, hmm ['ignance']? 😂. Don't talk man, just don't talk!
