How Do You Monitor Website Traffic?

Postby loudawg » 10 Jun 2015, 18:45

Hello Everyone!

I'm looking to find out what tools you guys use to monitor the traffic on your website? For years I have exclusively used Google Analytics but I think my view has been bias and should explore other options. What do you guys use?

You can try Alexa too, but your website needs to be quite popular to have a full analysis.

Not biased at all. GA is the best tool to keep track of your website's traffic today. Trust me, it's all-in-one compared to others tools and the best thing about is: IT'S FREE!

Google Analytics. Sometimes I just use the inbuilt cPanel options. Another really good option, that I've considered, is http://piwik.org/. You can get hosted Piwik installations too. I've seen people selling them for <$6 /YR. Or you can just get a cheap VPS and install it yourself.

well bro I think the best two tools to monitor your websites traffic are google analytic and alexa (they gives all necessary details as visitors countries, new visitors, visitors OS etc ...), believe me bro you don't need any other tools because there no other tools better then those, so don't waste your time searching

Well there are many types of monitoring your websites such as that one google analytics, next is the Alexa rankings and the Demographic user's interface.

I use Google Analytics which I have been using for my WoW blog that I don't update because it still gets some traffic and my work at home blog. Sometimes I check the 'Stats" page in Blogger but I am not sure how accurate it is compared to Analytics.

And I think this is a paid service.

Blogger will no doubt be more accurate. Google Analytics stats are not black and white and some digging needs done to find out true figures.

Using Awstats for most of the websites, however it appears that the statistics are not very accurate. Often bots are counted as visitors, and some referrals are not tracked accurately

I was using CloudFlare and Google Analytics.

I left CF so now I'm just using GA. I'm also posting HostGator (my host) stats at my blog as comparison. But I believe it's just GA now.

Well, my main concern is monetization, actually. I've a 3k monthly unique visitors. How do I monetize this? That's the question!

My blogs have sitemeter to monitor the traffic. It gives me detailed analysis of the traffic in regions. The hits counter is also displayed in the site.

I monitor my website and blog stats through Google Webmaster tools. This helps me see everything from keywords to articles visited. Same way I do using WordPress Jetpack plugin. Try that and see.

I monitor my stats using Jetpack. It gives sources, keywords, shows what my visitors did, and identifies my geographic reach, etc/
