I have noticed that the year and date has been removed in many blogs and site. This is done to avoid the google classifying the content old and not ranking it. I think a lot of people who use wordpress has stopped using date and year.

What's your choice in that case? Do you use them under the blog or title?

Yes I have just updated the post year and date section to not show up. I think SEO wise that is beneficial as well we just have to watch out for.

If you regularly update your blog, then you can keep the date and year. But, if you don't plan to update your blog on a regular basis, then I think it's okay to remove the date and year. Your regular audience will appreciate any content you put out with or without date.
