Have you tried to use Pinterest to promote your forum or blog?

I own a craft forum and started off strongly using Pinterest but couldn't get any real activity through that so I gave up. I'm wondering if I was too ambitious or if I didn't know the little tricks for using Pinterest that could have benefitted me better?

I have used it, but I was not getting appreciable traffic. So, I lost interest.

Katrina, have you also tried using Instagram to promote your forum?

I think Pinterest is good for niche where main thing is image. On forums image is secondary role and text is main. Maybe post image related to forum topic and then add text like 'Check users comments here' could work.

No, I don't even have an Instragram account. What ways could I use it for a crafting forum? Any ideas?

All I know about Instragram is that my daughter uses it to post photos of her rescue bulldog.

I usually use Pinterest to look at photos but I never thought of searching for forums. But am sure eventually people may find you posts and like them.
