Best way to get quality sound for videos

Postby Katrina » 31 May 2022, 16:34

I've seen some people do their recording inside closets in order to eliminate background noises from their videos. What things work and what do people forget when they try to record videos?

I'd like to eventually record myself making crafts, but I don't want to appear like a novice right off the bat. I'm also not sure a closet would be feasible since I would need a lot of room.

Make a script. Learn it. Stick to it.
People can easy talk about everything but when they are in front of camera you must have order.
You don't want to jump during process. You will confuse yourself in video and become nervose.
Train before you do it. Make a few examples before you post it online.

I find the greatest factor is a good microphone. I started with a $125 Condenser Microphone and was quite surprises when I replaced it with a $35 Fifine USB Microphone that had much better proformance with a smaller package and simpler to use, so price is not always the best indicator.

I mostly search for the "royalty free" type of the music which is in free domain. I think it works out in that context though it can be difficult to find the good ones.

I conducted several on-the-spot interview of a laborer in the government, the city mayor, the traffic officer, businessmen, among others using my cellphone for my YouTube channel and the result is good. There's less noise.

I also record as I sing in one of our rooms at home and the result is good too. Probably my phone has a noise reduction facility.

The phone I'm using is Galaxy A50 of Samsung.

For good audio, you can use a high quality Lavalier microphone, they can also be easily hidden because of their small design.

These are all great tips!! Thank you.

Is there software that can enhance sound after the video is already made? How about doing a voiceover using software? What kind would offer me that ability?

To get good quality audio when you want to record you would need a good microphone, so you can start your search online to find the one that will be appropriate for you.

Absolutely yes, download a free copy of Audacity and watch a few YouTube tutorials to learn how to use it.

Make a video in mute format, later add audio in it.
I don't know how to do it, but I am trying to learn this.

Why do you feel this will help your audio quality?

There are some good sites out there and they also offer the youtube audio ID support which is a good thing. I guess its cheaper too.
