ScreenCastify?

Postby Masterminor » 13 Jun 2015, 21:04

In my History class in the previous year we were given the option to instead of giving a live presentation, to record it in the Google Chrome extension known as ScreenCastify and play that for the class. Screen Castify is a record your screen app for Google Chrome. You can make a recording with or without audio and even upload to youtube. Has anyone ever used this? Now that you know of it, would you start if you didn't know of it previously?

There are better apps to record screen, so I dob really see the reason, why should I use that. Does it has any advantages in compare with camtasia?

A friend of mine used and liked the "Icecream Screen Recorder." I think it's a free software. I do not know if it's the best, but he loved this one. :)

I don't actually know if I'd use this one, but I'm looking for an app like that because I'm making an "Earn Money Online Guide" for beginners and students that want to start their own business and I need to recordo some app screens. I will try it.

I would love to try anything for free. This is very timely as I am planning to ceate some videos to be uploaded on youtube. If it is easier to use I might put my hand on it. I worry though that this free version has limits in terms of the length of the video that you can record. Where do you store the video ? Do you have the option to save them on your computer or do they automatically go to the sandbox?

I never heard of it but from your story, that's sounds nice and very helpful. I still used Powerpoint in doing presentations because I find it simple and easy to use.

I have a question about the resolution when using screencastify. Do you choose the biggest one and does it follow that a bigger resolution will always give you better quality? I am getting a message that says the audio had been dropped is that because of the bigger resolution I chose?

If you will be uploading the videos on youtube what is the desirable resolution for a better viewer experience?

Rather use any 100% recording like camtasia or fraps -> better quality video.
