On this topic, I need suggestion which method is better to invest some money - backlinks or promotional campaigns.

There are several companies who offer backlinks package - choose a niche and they will make backlinks for your site.

You can start by yourself promotion campaign - choose advertiser, make banners, set how many views and from where (depends how good is a network). Your ad will be show on different sites.

Which of those advertising methods you consider better?

The answer really depends on the specifics of the options. If the backlinks are permanent, an advantage of that is that they may help your SEO on an ongoing basis, whereas a promotional / advertising campaign probably will not yield results after the campaign is over.

I can't be sure. I didn't add Google Analytics code on my site (I will explain in new topic why). I just follow Ahref backlink checker and currently it say 0 visits. Since it is free version, I don't rely on it too much.

Yes they are. Currently I make backlinks from sites with similar niche or almost same. Mostly forums but I will make area bigger like comments on websites, review websites, personal blogs.

In past backlinks used to work. Now a days a lot of social traffic from social media works. backlinks are slow and often don't work.

I think promotional ads works better now. You would reach a wider audience with it . You would also have positive results as well. I have tried it with my YouTube channel and it was positive.

It is a backlink, I'm not sure if others do it, but when I am on a forum I often look at other member's profiles and visit their home pages. So it can get you at least some traffic from people who have an interest in what you are doing.

Saying that, I don't know how much it will benefit your search engine listings / SEO.

I am not planing go at Youtube so far. I also don't have idea how would I make videos about what I write.
