Web master is a person who is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the website for example ensuring the website is up and running. He also makes sure the website is accessible to users and and updating the content needed.

Not really, you can master someone else's website, for example someone who needs a website but does not feel competent enough to master it themselves. I do that for a local used car lot and they pay me $35 a month.

LOL. People get hired to be webmasters. My son-in-law hired one to maintain his website for him.
