I don't like this idea of parking. It is something like hoarding a domain name. They say you can earn from domain parking but I am not sure about it because when I tried, I had zero earnings.

What "assigns" a domain-name anyway? (maybe this is going back into 'Internet Programming 101')

I have only a very-light understanding of it---I know URLs are 'terms programmers associate with files ... somehow connected to IPs & IPC ...?'

So--the very-light 'way I understand it'--domains are "parked" by the fact that 'a program on a computer connected to the Internet "parks" it'---maybe there's "a big organization the people AGREE to acknowledge as 'The Keeper of the Domain Names'" ... essentially, a virtual parking-lot; yes?

It's a way to exploit people who don't know any better that have spent registration fees for a domain name and can't sell it themselves, but don't want to have it sit there with the meter running after they paid for it.

There are some domain registrars that park your domains without your consent. If you have a keyword rich domain and if your domain gets a lot of traffic, domain parking can earn you some money
