I wouldn't discourage anyone from setting up a blog, but Lord, is it hard work!! Setting it up is just the half of it, trying to monetise it is quite another. I agree with @Netherrealmer, people are more interested in video content.

The problem I see there, is writing an interesting sentence or two to describe a strategy point that sells your plan will load a lot faster than a video that soaks up bandwidth like a sponge. Especially since it is becoming more important to host your own content to avoid having your website terminated for violating rules you have not even seen.

I think this can be a very great way to earn passively. Content creators can earn from their articles posted on the blogs through reveys sharing

If you want to make money, try something else. It takes a lot of time to earn, sometimes you don't even earn a penny. A lot of people will shut down their blog in the first year.
