Dead Blog

Postby sweerie_banana » 29 Nov 2023, 07:16

I recently came across my blog, and I'm happy I could retrieve it. I've been planning to work on it but reviving it hasn't been easy. I intend to link it to my website here.

A dormant blog is a common challenge, but it's definitely possible with a strategic approach in order to engage with your audience, respond to comments, and use social media to drive traffic back to your blog.

How do you stay informed about current blogging trends, SEO best practices, and changes in your niche? And how do you adapt your strategies based on what works best for your audience?

I use a website that pays me 2 cents to respond to a daily email and check my posts on a Forum. You could use any reminder like this to keep you on track with any activity you want to mentally attach to it. It's not the 2 cents I do it for (but I do keep it), it's the help with scheduling I need.

That site is a survey site for USA or Canada only, but if you just want the reminder and you use Chrome (or CryptoTab) install the Boomarang Extension and include a link in the email it sends you: https://www.boomeranggmail.com/l/recurring-email/

For me l don't own a blog nor a website for that matter. However l know that the reviving process is very tedious.

That sounds nice Oldbuddy. I wish the offer was available worldwide since some of us have so many emails, and earning two cents per email would be great, @Oldbuddy.

Yes @Xynnel, recovering it is tiresome and getting views is harder.

Sounds good for keeping track of everything. Can you share the tool that you use for that?

Follow SEO companies' social media pages to remain updated with SEO and digital marketing trends. Check websites like WP Engine to read latest trend about blogging

The only such sites I follow are about Google update. Yes, this gives me a chance to see what is happening when it comes to why website traffic booms or tanks.

I like to use Reddit a lot. After my time on forums, I've discovered that that's the best way to find targeted advice for anything you want online. Blogging communities on Reddit are very helpful

I simply love how Reddit operates in real-time, allowing for immediate interaction with other users. This can be advantageous when you're looking for quick answers or opinions.

I agree with Trends, one can also enroll in online courses, read industry-related books, and participate in workshops to enhance your skills and stay updated on evolving trends and technologies.

My blog is in standby mode, this is not to say that is dead, I haven't worked there for 2 or 3 years. sometimes i think I am losing opportunities as if I had dedicated more time to make it grow I could now have an income from it.

Hi Nela, If your interests or priorities have shifted, consider rebranding or refocusing the blog's content. This can breathe new life into the platform and attract a different audience.

I'm also planning to revive mine but I'm taking a full different direction.

Reddit has vast and diverse communities, each dedicated to specific topics or interests. Whether it's seeking advice on a particular hobby, professional guidance, or even personal experiences, there's always a subreddit where you can find like-minded individuals ready to help.

Blogging is not dead. Certainly not. But it's up to you to keep your strategies alive or your blog will die or you'll have no hope at success.

I do not think people are blogging for money. However, blogs are still being used for content marketing by big businesses

While the motivations behind blogging may vary, it's clear that blogs continue to play a significant role in both personal expression and content marketing strategies for businesses.

Trying new strategies and testing different content types can help you adapt and optimise your blog and ensure its success. Make sure you stay up-to-date with the latest industry news and trends, and apply them to your blog as that can be your key to success.
