How to Get a Free Web Site

Postby Yusra » 10 Dec 2023, 20:19

Want an online presence but don’t have the budget for expensive web hosting services and domain registrations? No worries - numerous pathways exist nowadays to get a functional website up quickly for zero dollars. Follow these top methods to secure free web real estate and establish your corner of the internet.

1. Leverage free website builders like Wix, Webnode and Duda. These DIY-friendly builders provide entry-level, ad-supported site hosting at no cost. Simply select a template, customize pages and publish using their domains. Limitations exist around storage space and removals of branding, but otherwise very capable.

2. Tap into community site allotments like those from GitHub (for developers) and WordPress.org. These allocate small amounts of free hosted space to projects. WordPress offers open source self-installed blogging sites. GitHub fosters coding collaboration. Both feature their own primary domains but free just the same.

3. Make use of charitable nonprofit web hosting services such as Byethost, Awardspace and Zymic. Byethost offers 5GB of disk space for example - enough for plenty of room to grow. These unconditional free services still meet typical small business site needs.

4. Leverage free website subdomain allotments from your email or cloud storage providers. Services like Google Drive/Domains, Outlook.com and Zoho Workplace include limited, ad-supported sites as part of their free tiers. Simple templated sites on their subdomains, but handy.

5. Barter your skills for site development help, mentoring and hosting credit through bartering platforms like Simbi, LETS and Bunz Community Exchange. Trade talent like SEO, design, writing etc. to earn credits to spend on secured web resources.

6. Shuttle between various providers by recreating free trial offers for DIY site builders, usually spanning 1-3 months at a time. Some may require new email and payment profiles. While manual to rebuild each trial period, can sustain continuity.

7. Take advantage of your school’s alumni or student web space offers either on their servers or through third parties. Academic pricing on full commercial platforms like Wix and Weebly. Additionally, many universities provide their own free space for student profile pages. Leverage both!

With many complementary sources available, finding a no-cost website option simply comes down to picking the best method that aligns with your objectives, capabilities and long-term plans. Mix and match strategies as needed!

Be it as it may, it is not entirely possible to get a website at zero cost. It might be very minimal with the approach outlined here.

I use blogger and in a few minutes, I get a free blogspot website. There is no need to learn programming or be a web developer.

No, but it is very possible to have the cost so low that you can regain that amount with one simple offer that pays you commission.

You can get free website with free blogging platforms or website builders but these will come with a subdomain sites, which are not very useful. You can get a free hosting but you need a domain to create a website and a domain cost money.

Many platforms offer free website builders with easy-to-use templates. Some popular options include Wix, Weebly, and WordPress.com.

Keep in mind that while free website builders are a good starting point, they may have limitations compared to paid plans

There are several free hosting services available that allow users to create and host websites without any upfront costs, like, GitHub Pages, InfinityFree, and AwardSpace provide free hosting options for people and businesses looking to establish an online presence without the financial commitment typically associated with web hosting services.

I would much rather use angryhosting.com where I can get 1 Gb storage with 10 Gb bandwidth for $1 a month and use my user name followed by their domain name as a sub-domain for free. If it succeeds I can upgrade later to any size I need. I have used them since June 2008 and never had a problem they did not handle efficiently.

Every time I am looking for a free site for testing purposes, I either use Google's blogger, or use a sub domain on my own domain names. This allows me to test and do much without worrying about any associated fees.

If you want valid testing, using a free website is pront to giving you false readings. Spend a dollar and get tests that will be of value to you. Or like you mentioned, use a subdomain on a domain you already own.

There are many platforms from where you can get a free website. For example: you can try from Google and WordPress but in WordPress, you will get limited features for free.

You can still get a free subdomain consisting of your username.angryhosting.com and hosting starts at only One Dollar a Month. I have had several pages there for many years including the one linked from the globe under my photo.

Even are students domain names that are 100% free. Once you get you can go to AT hosting that is very cheap but with 99% uptime.
