So after a long time, I am asking two questions about Social Media.
On Instagram, I have seen many people trying to get a high number of followers.
Some try to do it at a maddening pace.
What could be the reason for this?

Also is there a probable "Silver Bullet" formulae to do the same?
What has your experience(s) been so far in this respect?

Different people want high follower counts for different reasons. Some want it because it makes them feel good about themselves, when they have lots of people following them on social media and showing some interest in what they post there. For others it is related to promoting a business or a cause they are interested in. The more followers they have, the more likely they are to get sales from some of those followers or the more likely they are to spread the word about a cause they believe in.

I haven't deliberately grown Instagram followers so do not have direct experience in this area. One way people do work on increasing their followers is by following other people. If you follow lots of other people, a proportion of those people will follow you back.

So in a way, the best way is to follow a lot of people, try to interact with a good number of them and expect a good return in this way!

The higher the number of followers, the more your content is exposed. And since most Instagramers target markets, that is why they aim at that. Also celebs do it so they are exposed to a wide reach.

So the key is to is to get more followers and active ones so one's content is more exposed.

Yes, but that does means a minimum level of activity on Instagram.
Being on and off certainly cannot help.

Yes as beyond a certain level of followers, chances of getting Brands to approach the individuals increase quite a lot.
