CodeCanyon

Postby Sam » 28 Sep 2013, 06:37

Has anyone ever thought about creating scripts for CodeCanyon? Or have you already done this? It would seem to me to be a nice way to earn some extra cash although CC do take quite a large chunk of the payment...

Envato taking a large chunk of the payment can be reasonable. You can either sell your script standalone and try to promote it which you may not get many sales, or list it on the Envato marketplace and get a large presence with people who are looking for scripts.

I agree. It's a toss up between listing on an established marketplace or going it alone- the same toss up as professional sellers on Trademe or Ebay make.

Ebay doesn't take a huge chunk of your profits though.

Codecanyon is useful though. It's not always easy finding people interested in using scripts. And the scripts can be sold over and over. :) It's not a bad deal.

Why not sell it on your own and get the whole chunk yourself?

^If you the whole chuck of it by selling by you own it will not get as much profit you will get from codecanyon because its really a popular site and most of them buy script from their and you can see that most of good script has 200+ buyers with really huge and not easily achievable if sold by your own.

Yes, although very few people seem to be talking about this but the services offered are very useful. I think Codecanyon is best website for buying scripts online and deploying them for our use.
