It is only a bad idea depending on what type of forum you own, on webmaster forums I think selling stickys is fine.

WHT charges between $200- $1000 for a sticky in it's hosting offers section for a week.

It looks like a very useful mod Jordan, you could probably try it without the branding removal, to see how it is working for your forum and then purchase the branding removal at a later date.
Do you know if it can be set up to work with both PayPal and forum currency?
