Have you ever managed to sell a sticky post on a forum? How much did you charge for it and what was the person advertising? :)

I've sold sticky ads on Business Advice Forum at the rate of $39 for one month. They have been purchased by those providing services of interest to webmasters, but overall have proven most attractive to providers of web hosting services.

WHT charges between $200- $1000 for a sticky in it's hosting offers section for a week. ;)

It is only a bad idea depending on what type of forum you own, on webmaster forums I think selling stickys is fine.

I was thinking of perhaps installing this mod on WebGuruBB:
http://xenforo.com/community/resources/ ... ticky.804/

It was mentioned by Josh. It would probably replace the way we have our sticky service set up now. And perhaps I would be able to implement the Forum Cash into it to allow people to use their Forum Cash instead of $. This would also help automate the process.

My current only problem with it is that i cost $80 xD ($50 +$30 for branding removal)

It looks like a very useful mod Jordan, you could probably try it without the branding removal, to see how it is working for your forum and then purchase the branding removal at a later date.

Do you know if it can be set up to work with both PayPal and forum currency?

Yes I think.

I actually deliberately price sticky ads a little high in comparison to other ads. The truth is I don't want to sell too many of them, because they can be distracting to members and visitors of the site. A couple of them are fine, but lots of them would take away from the user-friendliness of the community. Hence, I price them at a level where there will be some sales, but not too many.

I don't sell sticky posts because I don't think that they can give me money. I usually stick the posts of my staff members in order to give them a gift or something.

Well I do know it works with Paypal. For a forum currency I am unaware of. That is why I said I might be able to implement the forum currency as well.

However, that would require some custom code to be put into it if it does not. No biggie. Still looks like to be a really interesting addon.

Thinking about it, this would be very easy to do without a mod. As any advertiser with your forum currency will obviously already be a member of your forum, you could simply ask them to PM you with their ad details (i.e. a link to the thread they want to stick) and you could manually charge them the appropriate forum currency.

That will be a nice addition to FC too.

Although very much true, the point of the addon is to make everything automated as well xD

If Fergal offers stickys for forum cash he wouldn't make any money to pay for all the awesone rewards. :p
