Mumble is a good TeamSpeak alternative. Vent (Ventrilo) is good too.

Stick to those, you have nothing to lose Team Speak provides great quality for a cheap price (Team Speak) and an awesome support, the creators are doing a great job, worth every cent. And skype it's free and also provides a good quality, although it's more RAM hungry and some users report disconnection issues sometimes, more than TeamSpeak.

TeamSpeak is in my opinion best because you don´t have to register somewhere and it´s FREE. Have tons of rights as an owner of server, can mute or set someone as priority speaker.
