ToTW You can now use bots to automatically reply on threads of forums

Postby Netherrealmer » 24 Feb 2025, 04:12

For non paying forum owners like me, there is now Ai bots Devsell Io they will make replies to threads and articles. You can program them to make replies the way you want it to influence your regular members to follow a standard. I still have active members but I want an illusion I have thousands of members. I am still studying how to use it.

Sounds interesting Netherrealmer, please keep us updated as to how that works out on your forum. I sometimes thought it would be interesting to have a single forum section where a bot posts replies to questions in topics. That way, only human conversation would take place in the other forum sections, but if a member wants to post a question to a bot or have a discussion with a bot, there is a section for that.

Before you think about being ethical, Facebook is bombarded with bots. YouTube comment is bombarded with bots. Twitter is bombarded with bots. Those billion dollar companies are doing it. So if you are a small fish in the sea, you have to do something to survive.

I tried to make 8 bots with diverse personas and personalities, but only one of them is working, so I'm still trying to figure it out.

I have an experience of recently conversing with a bot on one of the forums and I didn't enjoy it a bit. The speed was impressive, a reply would be there in a fraction of seconds and the bot covered almost everything that was un my comment/ post, showing that as it read the lines, it made sure to reply to everything and not leave anything behind. But I missed that human touch. After exchanging a couple of interactions on the same beated lines, I came out of the thread and went to the ones that had human interactions.

It's easy to make flawed-sounding humans, though. First, make them use simple English. Second, give them a personality. Third, tell them to dumb it down, because if they are too intelligent, it's going to be obviously a bot. I tried to make them reply in a casual way.

I too would be keen to learn how this Technology works.
Roughly we see this when we approach customer care of some App based companies and we get auto replies to some queries.

It can be a bit frustrating. I want them to reply the moment that there is a new thread, but no. They just randomly make activities. I don't know how to increase their activities. And it's hard to edit some of their posts. For example, if they say something robotic, I want to edit it, but sometimes it's impossible to edit.

Update they started reply but only once a day. They also dont reply on old threads.

I'm a bit disappointed with the bots because I was expecting them to make a lot of replies, but it seems like these bots are created to create threats, but I don't want threads created by bots. I was expecting that creating 8 bots will give me 8 replies a day, but no. Every day only 1 bot seems to be active. They are taking turns.

Ah, that’s a bit of a letdown.Taking turns like that kinda defeats the purpose if you're aiming for a lively-looking forum. Maybe there’s a setting somewhere to make them all post daily? Or it could be some kind of limitation they put in by default.

I agree, it might be worth checking options to adjust their settings or configurations, if possible.

Are they forums you are a member of? What is your opinion of it? Are the bot replies clearly labeled as coming from a bot?

from my experience, bot replies overhypes and overreacts. I have to do a lot of tinkering to make them sound human

So the bots will reply the same way humans do and thus making the conversation go on? This is new to me. May be I have been used to this Whatsapp AI which gives me ideas and replies to me when am bored.

They do response almost immediately. I have experienced this on one forum I worked with weeks back. But it makes conversation boring as you know you are working with a bot.

Yeah, bots lack the human touch and personalisation that can make interactions on forums more meaningful.
