Mods to use on a phpbb forum?

Postby Jordan » 01 Oct 2013, 16:42

Hello all!

I got a question for you that will concern an up coming site of mine. (It's not really a forum though :P)

If you where running a phpbb forum or you currently are, what are the mods you would be using?

I need like a entire list so name as many as you can that you would use on your forum. Also explain why :D

Sortables CAPTCHA - Good at preventing spam registrations
Ultimate Points System - Aslong as there is a purpose (something to exchange points for) then this mod can increase activity and reward users.
NV advanced last topic titles - Makes the index page a bit more user friendly but showing the topic titles of the latest post in each forum.

I agree with all of the ones Fowler has said previously and would also suggest these:

Topic titles on index
This shows the latest replies to topics on the index. Currently on phpBB, it shows the name of the last member that has replied to a topic in a forum, with this mod installed, it also shows the topic that they replied to.

Anti double-post
This disallows members to make double posts in the allotted time you set in the ACP.

ReIMG Image Resizer
There is nothing worse than large images stretching your forums width. With this mod installed, you can shrink images in posts to a certain height/width so that they don't stretch your forum.

Mainly, topics and discussions quality are the main themes you must focus on.
