Well, yeah, most people are doing it to make money. There is a difference though. Some sites, it's very obvious that that's all they care about. I agree, there are a lot of factor's to consider when trying to create a good content that visitor's will be attracted to view instead of skipping most parts and head straight to the main point too. For example, Will reader's know what are you talking about? Can this be simplified while keeping the content intact? Will the reader be tired reading this?

If you have created the website this days then you need to be patient and post regularly because visitors need to see that you are active.Next you need to share your website everywhere you can - social media websites like Facebook,Twitter,Pinterest. You should advertise not only on Facebook but on all sites you can. I almost forgot that you need to make sure that the website has good design and unique content.
