Hey freelancers! How much should you charge your clients?

Postby steins_okabe » 08 Jul 2015, 13:07

For those who had experienced freelancing, or are currently freelancing as web developers, care to give a rationale when charging clients? Also, what's your preference, a fixed pay or time based pay? Why?

The normal rate should be 200 dollars per week as an experienced web developer

That depends on what you do. 200$ per week for a web developer is fine.

It's based on your knowledge and skills, if you are good enough I'd say 200-300$ a week.

The amount depends, lets say the job requires you to create a very complicated task so i'd charge them a bit expensive. :)

Do you mind me asking were are you from? I mean, the rate could also depend on your location right?

I've read that some people actually charge high for smaller projects, thinking that if the client agrees, its a win, and when the client disagrees, they[freelancers] would rather have a larger project with a larger pay on the first place anyway.

It depends on the project, you cannot declare an amount for a certain project without knowing the client request for that project. ;)

really depends on the complexity of work he/she wanted me to do and since I'm not a registered/ professional video editor, I don't charge them the way pros ask for payment.

I think they should charge 150 $ weekly because the developers are working so hard and they would be tired and deserve that money.
