That's terrible. I feel that hummingbird is taking people away from the experts that really want to talk about the subject. It used to be the case that when you had a question you might end up finding a whole community and message board talking about similar topics. It was a very good environment in many ways. The old style of finding that answer on a forum, joining it, and meeting new people is slowly vanishing.

Well, I would always suggest that there are alternatives to Google. Yahoo is a key player in traffic from the United States. Social Media is another good opportunity. Don't forget traditional options such as guest posts too. I'm moving towards the more old-fashioned options too.

Like if someone is looking for Website design company in New York, lets say, then Google will focus on complete search like long tail rather than simply showing you result for website design newyork, means this is focused on long tail queries.

I have not seen any effect of hummingbird on my website and am not sure about the effect and I think there is nothing big in this update and should not effect largely.

Google Hummingbird have not harmed me, but it is very harmful to those who try BlackHat SEO and they only get penalized by Google update meaning they might have toxic backlinks with them.
