Personally I would not install Tapatalk on any forum I run or help manage - http://forumpromotion.net/forum/viewtop ... t=Tapatalk

Number 1 was specific to FP but the rest is why I would not consider using it elsewhere. Also while it as an older version of Tapatalk, it was listed in a list of known vulnerable plugins on the MyBB forum earlier this year - http://community.mybb.com/thread-133659.html It does show that the plugin can be and has in the past introduced security issues.

I much prefer mobile styles as they are just a skin on top of the normal forum rather than a script that runs separately from the main forum. For this reason mobile styles are more secure and offer better compatibility with mods/plugins.

Nice info Fowler.

However even bore the security risks, and other information, I would have never installed tapatalk on any of my forums.

The app use to be a paid app. TO make users pay for a THIRD PARTY APP to be able to use our FREE forums on mobile seems really useless, and annoying. I would just have installed or made a mobile friendly theme, or have the main theme responsive for mobile devices.

No need for any third party mods or addons what so ever.

I also seem to recall someone on FP saying at one time that tapatalk wasn't good with administration/moderation duties? It wasn't in that feedback thread, though, it was in the managing and monetizing your forum section, and it was a general discussion thread about tapatalk, much like this one. I've heard more negative things on this feature than positive, so I would never install it on any forum I owned.

I sometimes dislike Tapatalk because It displays another content about wanting to install Tapatalk or not before proceeding to the real content, but thats terrible for me :P But didn't know about the security issues, thank you for the information.
