Web server is a service/program that basically transforms the Web pages files into something that the users PC can read and display on the screen

Most ones understand webserver as a hosting server. Without a webserver, we can not distribute information on the world wide web, which means you can not host a website.

A web server is a technology that process the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol request which we send via web browser. When we type an address in browser, we mean we are requesting web server to display content of that address. Hope you understand little bit.
