Compare Blog Platforms

Postby Coinlv » 22 Jul 2015, 16:02

Wordpress is the most famous and widely used blogging platform. I would like to know what are other blog platforms and software out there which are good to use and easy to manage. Please compare different blog platforms if you have used two or more of blog platforms.

i do prefer Worpress than using blogger or other blogging sites. Wordpress gives you the privilege of owning that personal space you created with them, unlike blogger which is owned by Google.

Wordpress is the best one for me. Several themes, plugins and templates. You can even build a whole website within minutes. Also, WP is way easier to manage as martinmilcev already said.

Wordpress has many plugins that can be used while Blogger doesn't have that. If you are looking for various of tweaks then go for Wordpress.

Wordpress is the best of all in blogging service provider because there are many experts who are working with wordpress, you can get hundreds of free and paid templates. And if you want any development in your wordpress you can try plugins. Supports always available from other users of wordpress. I suggest to use wordpress with self hosted website. Google Blogger also good one but in my point of view it could not compared with wordpress.

I totally agree. On wordpress, there are many great templates, which you can't find on blogger.

I am going to write it in a few sentences. If you wanna best ranking in google and well-looking blog as well - go for blogger, otherwise if you wanna build really decent, proffessionally looking site wordpress may be a good platform as well.

I will vote WordPress if you are trying to have stable blog. As it have easy user interface and also it is easy to update or download themes and use as you need. With some Skill and knowledge you can also edit some of the places like header, footer easily like I do. But if you Only want to advertise some programs giving description then try weebly.

How about Weebly? I was trying to research on how to be able to plug in Adsense and Weebly came into my radar on my research. I own a WP site, that I haven't posted on for years! But since I am trying to come back to the online writing industry  I wanted to go back to actively blog.

Weebly is nice. You can design your website there really great because its easy. However,Weebly is not that popular like Blogger and Wordpress and I recommend you to stay with Wordpress if you plan serious things with your website.

yeah but you can also use already made themes. You can just check some youtube vids how to fully personalized it, but don't forget to credit the owner of the blog template.

I would put my vote towards blogger, it might be easy to get hands on the basic tools but there are hidden surprises inside blogger too. I like Wordpress too, but the Wordpress.com is not really customizable in my opinion and Wordpress.org requires a hosting server. However, in terms of raw quality Wordpress.org is the best in my opinion, but blogger scales well with your technical level.

Yea, WordPress is my favorite CMS. It is very simply, easy to set up and use. But, there are others that when you use them you can make them a favorite too. Joomla and Drupal are my other including Blogspot by Google's Blogger.
