Google chrome marking advertising on websites as malware

Postby niche » 29 Jul 2015, 02:59

Google chrome has been marking advertising on some websites as malware. Have others faced the same problem? Without google webmaster tools, will it be possible to get the warning removed?

Yes, I have observed this, Google chrome is marking some of the ad agency ads are malware and some of the sites also marking as malware and I can't able to view those sites. It is automatic tool and it detects which is malware and you get a warning not to use it, nothing related to google webmasters tools.

I've noticed that my antivirus program has been blocking some type of bad page within the Google search page. It just started happening recently. I don't know if it has to do with Google Chrome, as I did just recently install it on my computer. I had never used it before in the past.

Recently, people starts to attach malware to advertisements, and transmit them when the advertisement is loaded. Google has taken a wise choice of blacklisting a few know advertising extensions containing malware infested advertisement. However that also means that the choices for earning money through Google Adsense-like extensions have reduced.

Google actually wanted to protect their users but on the other side as you said the earning money through Google Adsense have reduced. Its a "political" compromise...

Just don't use the Chrome, it's so annoying thing for me that I changed to Firefox, and it's much better browser now for me.

Is it happening too much with you? The past few weeks it happened to me a lot but I marked the sites as secure and right now it stoped! :P Maybe try to mark the sites as secure when it prompts the security barrier and then you can access them with no problems later!

I agree, Chrome is a very good browser. Just not as customizable as Mozilla Firefox. Yesterday I visited a websites through PTC and their website has trojan. Looks like people are finding ways to infect people and steal their personal information through various ways.

Maybe that's why sometimes I have difficulty in accessing some website particularly new websites. However, I didn't notice the exact error because I tend to just exit whenever I encounter errors when I am surfing.

Which advertising are you using for the websites which Google Chrome is marking as malware. If someone will make a list of ad networks which are being marked as malware by Google chrome it will help other webmasters so that they can check whether the malware is really creating problems
