This is great from Google....When was this update released? I mean this is really great because theres going to be better search results and it won't be that easy for websites that want to rank themselves on a bad way.

Google is losing something here.They cannot be launching new sites instead of marketing and making google plus easy and accessible to use.

From what I understand as per the link supplied by @serbog, Google Penguin is a sort of filter for links that may be superflous or illegal. Am I right on this?

Google Penguin is the one removing bad links, those that only contains spam and virus that might wreck your software. I learned this just now, thanks for sharing.

just make shure your site is not hit by penguin and you will be fine
