Opening Date?

Postby jacktheking » 24 Nov 2013, 10:20

Is the Opening Day of your website important to you? Like in wedding and business, they will pick the best and lucky date. What about you? I think it is important. If your website anniversary fall on New year or some public holiday, it may be bad too; no one will remember your site anniversary.

I don't count anniversary of my website important as it really don't matter to me. I try to to build my site to the best I can and try to make it popular among the rivals.

I don't really focus on the day my sites were opened. That search usually occurs after I start a website. lol.

I don't think I've held Anniversary celebrations or anything. Forums shouldn't be measured by the number of years they run. It's the content that matters. :D

I've never really focused a date when the website is opened to the public. I normally start it off with a few friends being 'beta testers' and slowly grows from there.

It's true. However, when your forums become popular your community will do it themselves. :P

No, this idea has never crossed my mind that we should have an opening date for our website as well. But I think it is not a bad idea at all and cannot say that any particular date will be beneficial as well because as you can see everywhere that many marriages broke even it has been done on the best possible date with best possible way.

I do think that setting a date to release your site is important. I always keep a record of when i open my site.

Well, it shows that you've planned the launch and put in a lot of effort before officially releasing to the public. :)

I think it actually depends upon the person and the type of business you will be focusing on. For certain types of websites its better to remember the anniversary because the userbase would like to know. For others you can ignore it...if you want to. If and when I do launch my own website, I plan to remember its anniversary date.
