Flipping Domains

Postby Sam » 31 Aug 2013, 22:01

Do you think Flipping domains can be profitable?

I have a few tips myself (never really made much from domain flipping but I have made a little).

1. Pick a good domain. This is the most important step. You could use an expired domain finding service or just do a big search. Only a few of the non - main TLDs will be worth anything...

2. Post your domain for sale on the larger forums and marketplaces. WebHostingTalk and Digitalpoint are probably the best unless you want to pay to list on Flippa.

3. Patience and a high listing price will get you the better returns. You must be prepared to hold domains for years.

I think flipping domain can be quite profitable.

I have never done it before, but I may do it a few years later.

@Brad W would you mind linking to your auction so we can have a look at it?

Has it received any bids yet?

I may not do Flipping of domains because it generally takes long time. Also, you need to choose a good domain.

I've never done this before, as most of the domains I've had over the past couple years have been purchased by a friend, but as someone else has said, you'd have to have a lot of luck and a few people willing to buy in order to pull something like this off.

It can also be done with some smartness, if you are able to think of something cool, short, unique, and you are able to present it in a good way in the open market, you are going to get a big profit with it, so one can make their own luck too.

I agree, If you have patience, you can earn... Sedo and Godaddy are good places for auction listing, you can also promote you domain on forums and facebook, you can find one who might agree to purchase your domain

I have flipped a few domain names and I find it a good idea since you make good profits in time. But, finding buyers versus picking the perfect domain that attracts buyers is something hectic.

I have seen a good number of people engage in domain flipping and they are making huge profit from it but it is not an easy exercise.

It is also crucial for domain flippers to identify and spot out the domain name and purchase them with believe that it could gain significant value.

this is where a great work lies whenever you were engaged in domain flipping because the process of identifying the best domain is rigorous.
