Hand code or WYSIWYG?

Postby Bananaman » 05 Dec 2013, 03:57

How do you make your websites, Can you hand code then, or prefer to use a WYSIWYG editor such as Dreamweaver?.

I hand code my sites.

WYSIWYG is never useful in my opinion. It deprives webmasters of an experience. You also limit the amount of customization you can do to your content. The coding itself is rarely clean or efficient with WYSIWYG.

I always like to hand code, WYSIWYG has always ended up with me messing up my code and adjusting stuff I didn't want to happen. With hand code you're also learning the code off by heart and after a while it get's easier than WYSIWYG editors.

I'd also prefer the code version, because it gives you more control, and to be honest mostly WYSINWYG :P

WYSIWYG will be useful for beginners but WYSIWYG will make the code messy ,So i prefer the hand code and use it.

I'd say the opposite. If you start off with WYSIWYG you'll never learn the basics of code, as the editors always seem to mess up the code into something much more complicated.

I have been looking for a good WYSIWYG to save time. I haven't found anything I like yet. There is always Bootstrap or something similar.

The only WYSIWYG editor that I've used and had a slight success with, was the editor built into Joomla. It was okay but after a while I switched it off and just used HTML.

So you are not satisfied with Dreamweaver? I have seen a few professional web developers recommending it.

using Dreamweaver is the best option for using, but I find it little unhealthy for beginners as they will get everything easily here and they will note be expert in hand coding that is not good for them. They should first prefer to code by themself and later they can use whatever they use.
I use Dreamweaver from starting and I am unable to code much till now, but can make very efficiently in this tool, so I recommend not to use it always.

I prefer Handcoding, gives you more choice then just using programs like Dreamweaver.
