The only websites that I have been able to building a large following on is tumblr. I had two different accounts that gained lots of followers. Other social media websites seem to be harder to gain a following on. I was just myself on tumblr, and people liked and followed me.

I have used FPTraffic briefly. My personal opinion is: the guides are very good, well worth the money paid. You get great case studies which basically tell you how to make money on Facebook. I think the overall tool needs to be used in conjunction with spending at least a few hundred dollars on FB adverts (and being smart about it). It would be difficult, but not impossible, to build a natural following. Like forums and blogs, content attracts visitors. That's effectively what the tool does.

Well the only way I get followers is to follow people with the same interest as me. If you can see hashtags work well especially if you are using twitter, tumblr and instagram. Some people will even use the follow for follow hashtag and these will allow you to be known to people. I do recommend to follow only those with the same interest as you for you to get a follow back. If you like drawing follow only people who likes to draw.

on facebook people follow people that show a consistent level of interesting things to say and post funny content or popular content. you can do that but it will be strange to post interesting things for a long time then switch over to whatever business you want to promote. its best to promote your work at the same time while being interesting

I agree. On websites like Fiverr, people offer gigs where they promise to get you a certain amount of likes for your facebook page for five dollars, which creates the impression that your facebook page is legitimate. It is good for business.

It is better not to go for paid likes. However amazon's mturk provides you easy opportunities to get quality followers for a small fee. Just sign up as requester

When I first registered FB and Twitter, I had 19 followers. Then, I followed others, commented on their FB and twitter, slowly my followers increased

Another good tip is to get out there and follow or friend people. A lot of people will follow you back just based on that. Some will unfollow, but many will stick with you as long as you stick with them.

I get followers by promoting my sites. If I promoted something that has payment proof, people start to follow me and ask me how I do that.They even shared some of my post so other people from their group of friends started to follow me too.

Getting a following needs effort in promoting your site and making it interesting. You can start in social media by posting a promotional item that would look interesting to your friends.
