Free Graphics

Postby oldbuddy » 12 Oct 2015, 01:12

I have been creating my own splash and capture pages lately and needed large background images for the method I use, but I didn't want to run into problems with copyrights and I sure didn't want to pay too much for them.

I started using Pixabay and have been thrilled with the results. They have enough images for free that I don't even look anywhere else and they don't require attribution on most of them (if not all) so it seems to be a perfect solution for me. I do send them a little cash if one works well with the Buy Us A Cup Of Coffee button, but that's because it's a great website and I want to support them.

Thought I would pass that along to other webmasters.

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

I use pixabay some, but my go to place for graphics is morguefile. They also don't require attribution. I usually use them as blog post images though, not for splash pages.

I love Pixabay, it's my new favorite free graphics site. I like Morguefile a lot too, and get a lot of images there, but Pixabay has the advantage of offering vectors as well as photos. I'm working on some projects in Illustrator, and the public domain graphics are great so I can post the finished design to Zazzle. There are very few sites that allow use on POD sites, even when the images are royalty free.
I'm actually in the process of write a Hubpages article about free graphics and other resources for websites, especially for commercial use. I have it all written actually, I just have to find the time to type it up and publish it!

I often use Flickr photos with the the correct level of Creative Commons licensing when writing a white paper and places like pixabay and morgue files when I'm writing a sales pitch. I use white papers for reputation building and the only sales pitch is a link below my name that leads to a page to sign them up for an autoresponder. I always give attribution to the photographer.

Hi Friends,

I too have heard about this Pixabay site, but I never used it mostly I am copying pictures from the Google web, I have not think about the copy right matters. I have an account with istock photo and rarely I am using pictures from this site this is also free pictures sharing site. I am not expert in the web so I am not using pictures regularly for my posts

I think among the sites, only pixabay allows you to use their picture freely, they rest actually requires to give credit.

the most free graphic you can use is one you make yourself. if you don't need something that is really slick looking you can always try your hands at making them on your mspaint program.

I am using Pixabay too but I am being careful as there are pictures that they show that from Shutterstock. Shutterstock is not giving pictures for free and I was warned by a certain blogger before.
