Several Ways To Monetize Your Website

Postby darkthorn » 12 Oct 2015, 19:19

Hello everyone,

If you own a blog or a website and are not getting as much profit as you wish then this post is for you. As you know some bloggers make money by selling their own online courses, software and other people products as an affiliate, these are some ways of monetize a website but there are others:

- Sell Advertising Space

The most common form of advertising is Google Adsense which is paid per click, but there are some people who prefer to deal with advertisers directly. I mean they find advertisers by themselves, for instance they contact local business owners in their living area to sell some advertising space in their website. If you are a sales person this is a good way of getting money.

- Selling services

If you are good doing something you can always advertise your services on your blog. For that you can create a specific page, call it services and add a "Buy now" button. This can help you getting more costumers and an extra money.

- Affiliate marketing

You can always review products, properly written product reviews can bring a massive amount of new visitors to your blog. Review a product on your site and include your affiliate link at the bottom of your review to increase your sales.

- Offer a Membership Site or Premium Content

Premium content is paid for in a special members area. For instance if you can make tutorials or have some good knowledge about a subject you can create good content for your blog which will be only available to Premium members. This is also a good way to increase your income.

These are just some ideas to increase your income, more ideas are welcome :). Please share your knowledge :D

I signed up with Amazon's affiliate marketing and try to incorporate it on my blog as much as I can. I have yet to earn anything from it but I am just doing it anyway. Hopefully one day I can gain enough traffic to have frequent blog readers and somebody buys something from my affiliate links

I wonder could you go directly to a company and ask them about advertising, a lot of companies have a presence on facebook and advertise that way really by interacting with the public but I wonder if you could convince one to put a banner on your blog and would blogger allow it? I think I will go to facebook today and see

For what I know Affiliate marketing is not hard but gives you a lot of work. I am no expert, all I know is the basic stuff :), but I want to learn more just need to find time to study. You should learn a little bit about it because people say it is a nice way to get some cash ;)

Well depends, big companies advertise in Facebook but small business owners sometimes don't even know what Facebook is. In the place where I live there are several small business without a page on internet mainly because the owners don't understand much of internet, some of them pay for an ad on the local journal for instance. You would be surprised with what you could find where I live :).

I've been thinking about joining Amazon affiliates. I've heard that others may pay more, and there are some with good reviews, but I know that I trust Amazon. They also have tons of different stuff for people to choose from if they want to buy something. You can get almost anything at Amazon.

It depends on your targeting audience. For example if i were to target people from my country then i cant use affiliate marketing because my income from it would be 0. Almost no one buys stuff from amazon or online in general. So my only option would be google adsense or something similar to it. Also if my audience is worldwide but younger generations that dont have income. In that case adsense is only option.

I think that can work if the reviews are really good ones, and especially if it is a product that someone is going to buy anyway. I don't like the idea of trying to push impulse buys though, since too many people already live beyond their means. I would prefer to promote products that people need and that would be a good value for them.

Of all these, unfortunately I am not good at anything. The only possibility is to earn by selling advertising space and I am trying to create a good site of my own now for that.

Knowledge is one of the most highly valued commodities being marketed online today. My idea is to give enough away free to establish and cultivate yourself as somewhat of an authority, then offer more with a small string attached that provides you with commission dollars. Then both you and your readers can benefit, creating a win-win situation.
