Does Internet Sting?

Postby nakitakona » 31 Oct 2015, 02:45

I started using computer sometime in 1988. I just went to a computer stall and rented a computer for an hour or so, depending on the extent of time of my computer job.

I became addicted to a computer game which held me back till I go home late in the evening.

My addiction was curbed due to the Internet facility installed to Internet cafe in our place.

I began surfing the Net to search for something that interests me. I familiarized some word processors, accounting, others. I started learning basic html programming in which I am now using that skill in the maintenance of my several blogs.

Blogging

Nowadays, I spend all my time in the Internet when I am at home after work and also during weekend. I have no other activities to do when I am home and on the said weekends.

I don't have friends to visit, party to attend, gambling to join, among others. I just stay at home.

I almost spend my time doing online job, making my blogs alive and kicking. Internet does a lot fir me.

I love the internet and spend quite a large amount of time on my different online sites. Blogging has never really been my thing although I have done it in a small way in the past.

I am retired now and although I have custody of my 8 year old granddaughter I still have plenty of time to spend online and I must say I would be totally lost if I couldn't. I'm not particularly computer literate but I know enough to do the things I enjoy.

I am seeing myself on you but I don't believe you don't have friends, you seem friendly of course you do and if you don't have, please allow be to be one. I am more like you in a sense that I choose to be online working and earning that outside with my friends. I love blogging and staying at the comfort of my home.

All you need is to make a proper schedule. You should make the internet useful to you and not being a slave of it.The internet purpose is to make work easy and improve our working conditions. The internet need to be allocated time and be controlled and not just letting it control you.

You need to visit other places and make a proper use of your time.

i do not think i became a slave of the internet but i spend a large amount of time with the net surfing something, playing games, posting comments and learning some crafts. I do not chat with all friends but hardly one or two for a few minutes . I wish to earn something by doing online job rather than wasting time by chatting with friends.

The internet, like everything else in life has to be managed before it becomes an addiction. If we allow it, the internet will eventually manage you. It will control much of your day your time, energy, your sleep cycle, your relationships, when you eat and much of your day. Many people are addicted to the internet but there is so much more to life. If we can lift our heads and look around it is possible to feel the love for life, family, friends, nature, animals, artistic ability etc. we will be begin to see life from a healthier perspective. :)

I honestly don't know what we did before the internet LOL I'm kind of addicted to it! It's actually got worse over time, especially now that I do a lot of online work. Before I started 'working' online, I used to spend a lot of time surfing the net for gorgeous clothes as well as social media platforms such as Facebook and Pinterest. I have always used it at work, too.

I agree, Internet does sting if you use it inappropriately. For example, Internet does benefit people when you use it to search for information, learn things and such, but it can be harmful if you become addicted to online games, or surfing inappropriate content. Everything has its good and bad side.

The Internet can be a bad thing, if used inappropriately. I love the Internet and the convenience it brings. But I also try not to get too attached to it. I know I have other relationships that needs time and physical presence - my friends, husband, son etc. So I try to keep a schedule how I can balance my online life with reality.

The Internet can take over much of your schedule, but please do not work around it. Make your routine with friends, activities, books, and then try to fit here and there the "internet stuff". I often stay longer reading a book or having a drink with friends before going back to a computer.

Prioritizing, not scheduling, I'd say.

The Internet makes a much better hobby than a lot of others, because it pays me instead of costing money I don't have. If I didn't do this, I would spend too much time staring at the TV screen.

I am very glad to hear from you on how the Internet makes your life enjoyable and worth living. As a retired cook and a loving, caring grandma of 8-year old girl, Internet is the best way to spend a time for communication, information and entertainment. Enjoy and make your day... :)
