Using Twitter?

Postby oldbuddy » 11 Nov 2015, 02:51

I purchased a new book from Amazon on using Twitter for promoting business interests today and although I have only read the first part, I am beginning to realize that it has changed significantly since I first joined years ago.

Are you using Twitter to promote anything online?

Even if you just write for earnings, most of these websites that pay you will pay even more if you have referrals. Wouldn't it make sense to build your skills and knowledge, to be able to get paid for what others do on your behalf?

What do you think, is it worth it to pursue more easy income without working much harder?

Or is it better to take what comes easy and just keep your nose to the grindstone?

I never liked Twitter, maybe because I already had a number of social media accounts so never bothered to create a Twitter account. I do try to be a lot active in promoting my articles thru Pinterest, SU, and FB than I used to so I hope it makes up to my lack of Twitter account.

I used to have a few tricks up my sleeves to use Twitter for internet marketing purposes. But it has been a long time since I used it, so I have forgotten now. I found the technique on a forum.

I have a Twitter account. I joined it sometime in December 2009. It was already 6 years ago. As of this writing, I have not found anything significant of my membership there. I got 522 followers, 793 following, and 18.7k tweets.

I have to admit nothing significant I derive from Twitter. It is just probably I don't know how to make it workable or to monetize it. Somebody may suggest, I will surely appreciate and be thankful of.

I have a twitter account but I use it very seldom, I tried in the past to promote some stuff there but maybe because I didn't do it in the proper way I wasn't successful. Twitter is a powerful tool but in Portugal I almost don't know anyone who uses it although it is a huge success in USA. In my opinion one should always try to improve and learn new things. Staying always in the same place won't take anyone further in life but if you try new things who knows what the future may hold. If you have free time I think you should try to apply what you may learn in that book in twitter, you won't loose anything just time.
Besides maybe it will take you to another level and allow you to earn more money.

I have a Twitter, I share my blog online to gain views. I think it is important to work harder to achieve our goals.

I have a twitter account, but I don't do much with it. Mostly I end up using it to earn points or boost coupons by sharing whatever offer is required. I also tweet when I cashout from Fusion Cash and other sites.

I joined Twitter with the specific purpose of promoting my writing, but I have yet to actually use the account. All three of the sites I was writing for folded in very quick succession, and Twitter suddenly didn't really hold any appeal for me. I guess because i'm just about to start writing again, I may very well re-activate my account and start promoting my material on there.

I first joined twitter with the intention of internet marketing too, but quickly found out that twitter is not the best social media site to use to promote things, because it can be kind of impersonal.

I am using twitter to promote one site. Twitter is just one of the options I use and it helps in its own way. When I check my visitors I would be surprised that somehow someone was able to notice my tweet and gave it a try.

How many visitors did you get? And did you use any specific techniques?

I agree, sometimes when you do something suspicious Twitter will immediately suspend it and require you to use your phone to verify the account to ensure you are the owner so they can release the suspension. I have my account suspended because of entering giveaways which requires you to tweet and follow people ( for example on Gleam.io giveaways ). I think they should give another way to verify you are the true owner instead of phone verification because not everyone will openly share their phone number on websites.

If you have already have an established social media presence then I say, yeah, why not take full advantage of it. If you're like me, and you really don't, it may not be all that helpful. I need to develop mine, but I'm kind of stuck. I guess I just need to spend a couple days scouring the sites and following people, hoping some will follow back.

Start writing for yourself and you can avoid the folding site syndrome (and get paid more).

I have a Twitter account but I seldom use it as I just don't find it very interesting. I tend to use Google+ most for social marketing because I can exclude friends from the marketing posts.

I agree., and I am always so surprised when people spend all of their time on Twitter. It is so boring. Unlike you though, I feel that Google Plus is the most boring social media site.

Google+ seemed boring, but I find it a lot effective when I need to promote articles I have written. Especially when I write a news article with Blasting News, I can easily join a community and promote the article I have written. I usually get a number of re-share and +1s so I know my news article goes around.
