Help My Blog Is Affected with Malaware!

Postby nakitakona » 23 Nov 2015, 15:59

As I check my blog tonight I was shocked when Mr. Google informs me that as per their transparency audit my site is DANGEROUS.

I tried to disable some of my suspicious ads but to no avail. I need your help to remove this pop up ads which was responsible for this problem of my blog.

Here's the screenshot of Mr. Google's warning:

I do appreciate any help to get rid of this warning.

I had that happen once and I wasn't putting advertising on my blog. Bottom line was I wish I would have just walked away and saved the dozens of hours I spent trying to fix it and ended up walking away anyway. As long as you keep that domain name, Google has it tagged and it's hard to reverse it even after you clean up the problem.

That would be my hunch. The trick is: there is an added extension name in my blog homepage. I don't know where did I get that. Well, thank you @oldbuddy.

Interesting , I have seen something like this one, except it was to do with a sites certificate not being updated.

What did you decide to do about this? How would you go about fixing a problem like this?

This is strange. The only thing that I can think of is that the html behind the site is infected with a malware code. It must be in the code.

As of this writing, nothing has been done. My friends are not experts. It worried me so much for the homepage was greatly affected.

Have you figured out a solution yet? I have never heard of this happening before. I am wondering if someone reported your site, and now Google sees it as dangerous.

Probably what I'd do is setup a fresh install of Wordpress on a new host (different IP), import the posts from the old blog, then put back the theme with minimal addons and change the nameservers to reflect the new host. Not sure if that would work or not.

Have you checked out what's causing the issue by adding your site to Site Tools and going here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/security-issues ??

To fix that problem you must log in Google Webmasters console and see in detailed message why your website has become blocked. Your website may be compromised if you host a 3rd party script or widget that you do not have full control of. If you use an SSL certificate make sure that it is still valid and not expired.

You can also use these free tools to scan your blog:

Hope this helps you

I hope you get to save your website. I saw this warning for a couple of sites that I know are "safe" but still ended up being raised as a red flag by Google..

I am afraid By doing so if i am deleting any important file which my son has saved

This is a bit dangerous by deleting important file of your son. Have a good virus remover and there are many good ones in the Internet. There are time, of course, that a downloaded file coming from a virus infected site may be the culprit for such malware problem.
