I think the best way to bring him back is basically to kick out all of those AI users. If you see those robotic AI abusers in this place, report their butt aggressively.

Hang on, I'm almost certain I saw OldGuy here about 2 weeks ago!!! Was I dreaming?? I even went back and checked the date to be sure! I also remember getting a slight sense of trepidation, wondering when to expect his routine telling off for one thing or another

Well I suppose I should stop and say howdy. Although I have basically been gone since August 2025, I have strolled FC pages from time to time since then, just to see how things are progressing.

As for my reasons for my departure, yes, I believe the AI content has destroyed the site. In my opinion, if a plagiarism tester shows the content is copied content, the content should be immediately deleted and the poster should be banned. That is even if the plagiarism test cannot specifically identify the original source. The game has changed with the AI system at the helm and the site moderation has to become more aggressive to keep up.

I believe the onslaught of AI content has chased away a huge majority of past members and is a primary reason why new members join and leave the same day. In my opinion, the entire idea of a forum is for members to actually share personal opinions on posted topics and the artificial content does not provide any of that. I doubt I am the only one who found all that offensive.

As I watched site statistics for nearly the entire time I was active, I recorded the gigantic drops in every stat. I sort of developed an attitude of site owner to some extent and those statistics were literally making me ill. I could not bear to watch any more. I have reviewed site content from time to time since my departure and only see it all getting worse. There has been no improvement and nothing to entice me to return to my previous activity level.

I wish you all well as you too eventually move on to new interests.

Wow, that's so sad to hear, @OldGuy I've heard people discussing the AI onslaught here but I wasn't aware it was this bad. It's a shame you've decided to walk away from FC because we all genuinely miss you. Maybe your presence was a bit of a deterrent to the 'offenders'... now there might not be any real guard rails. I hate to see this happening to our community. Whatever you decide to do, we also wish you well, OldGuy

Yes it seems the issue with ai contents is becoming worse here, i recently saw a thread here, and the comments was so obvious it was made with AI.

It's a shame that certain users with AI content make you walk away. It would be good if you come back as guide, mentor and well wusher of the site. We will major sure that we will report those AI contents and shame users who are doing this. You should be here as you have owned then sense of responsibility and commitment for this forum.
